The Faith Group Collaboration for Community Emergency Response (FGC) is a collection of faith congregations in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul) metro area working together to prepare for community emergencies such as pandemic influenza, natural disasters and terrorist events.  FGC partners with Hennepin County Public Health Emergency Preparedness and the state of Minnesota to develop a replicable model of community response engagement. 

The purpose of FGC is to create a network within the community that works together to prevent, prepare, respond and recover from crisis events.  FGC designs preparedness plans for our individual congregations, connects and networks to share ideas and information and creates enduring relationships with:

• participant congregations
• community groups and neighborhood associations
• local and state government agencies
• state and county emergency preparedness agencies, public health depts. and first responders

These relationships coordinate and implement systems of response for community support during crisis events.
